Site Specific Information for UNLV
If your team is flying to UNLV, a taxi is probably the easiest way to get to campus. The approximate costs are listed in the table below. When you arrive at UNLV, you should proceed to Tonopah Hall (#20 on the campus map: http://maps.unlv.edu/PDF/main-building-color-name.pdf) located at 1130 University Road, where your team will be assigned to a dorm.
The $55 per person charge assumes a double occupancy room with a Friday night stay. Two single rooms per team will be reserved for coaches for Friday night for no additional charge. For any additional requested single rooms, teams will be charged $55 plus an additional $20 per room for a total of $75. Teams will not be charged for additional single rooms that arise due to an odd number of students or coaches of the same gender. For teams who wish to stay at UNLV either Thursday or Saturday night (or both), teams will be charged for all rooms at the rate UNLV charges ARML: $25 per double bed per night and $45 per single bed per night.
On Friday afternoon, a meeting for new coaches will begin at 3:00, with the full coaches meeting starting at 3:30. A meeting for proctors will take place at 4:00, and the competition will begin at 6:00. Teams will do the Team Round and the Power Question on Friday evening, with a speaker in the Student Union afterwards. On Saturday, the competition will begin in the ballroom on the 2nd floor of the Student Union (#31 on the campus map) at 9:00am with the individual questions, relay rounds, and tiebreakers in the morning, and the Super Relay and awards ceremony following lunch.
